Boxed Accordion Album for Swap

Hi everyone! I have another project share today. I joined the boxed accordion album swap over at Mini Album Scraps (MAS). The swap follows a specific tutorial from Cristi at Paper Hoarder Disorder. I did one album, which I posted pics of earlier, as my sample or first run to see where I might have problems so that I wouldn't have any problems with the one for the swap. Here is the one I finished for the swap:
For the papers I used the My Mind's Eye The Sweetest Thing Bluebell collection and inked all the edges with Tim Holtz Distressed Ink: Gathered Twigs. To decorate the outside of the album I used flowers by Jolee's Boutique, Say It In Crystals by Prima, and the feet are called foundations by Tim Holtz idea-ology. The butterfly was from my stash and I believe it was either Jolee's or Recollections. The tags are undecorated. Here are some close ups:

Hope you enjoyed and happy scrapping!

CSI 152 - I wish everybody had Friends to be Goofy with

I love doing the challenges (case files) over at Color, Stories, Inspiration: CSI. Although I am doing a couple of swaps over at Mini Album Scraps (MAS) and I've been trying to get my December Daily done all while I am working a lot of extra hours at work but I still got the challenge done.

For this case I used all the colors which were lime green, teal green, white, lemony yellow and tangerine orange. For the evidence list I used polka dots, mesh, pearls/jewels (centers of the flowers around the pictures), scallops, and paint. For the testimony I decided to use a prompt from Paper Wishes which has 100 journaling prompts. The prompt I chose was "I wish everybody had....." The journaling is on the tag behind the pictures. It reads "I am so lucky that I have awesome friends who are there no matter what. One day they asked if I wanted to go over to Orlando to the IKEA store and since I have never been there yet I jumped at the chance to go and hang with my friends. When we got to the area where up pick up the furniture and larger items they had these flat carts and next thing I knew I was pushing them around on them and they were acting like they were surfing. Here it was, these three professional women acting goofy in the middle of IKEA in front of strangers. Everyone should have friends that they can just let go with and be goofy and have fun."

This background paper I believe is from Carolees Creations and is probably around 10 years old and kind of bright and fun so I thought those picture where a perfect match. I distressed the paper with the Prima distressing tool on the edges and on the top of the paper and mounted it on top of tangerine orange cardstock. To further distressed it by using paint and a dot background stamp. I also sanded the edges of the pictures.

I painted a solid area, used the mesh, paper with a wood grain and another with butterflies from the Studio Calico Hey Day Collection, and some paper from my scraps that looked like it could be wallpaper all of which is to represent working on your home which reminded me of going to IKEA. The paper pieces I used Gathered Twig distress ink on the edges to help them stand out. The flowers were silk flowers from the stash. I used a scrap of doily, enamel dots, and the lol wood veneer is from Recollection I believe. The 'laugh', arrow, and view finder where given to me from Roni Sue who is Roni Sue Scrapper on YT. The black letter stickers are Tim Holtz idea-ology. I cut 'friends' and 'goofy' from my Cricut using Mickey & Friends and Jasmine.

Again, I used up some of my older stash and more of my scraps. I like doing these challenges because it makes me get some of my scrapping done and not just make gifts for everyone else, actually think about my journaling and to get more stories and feelings down, get out of my comfort zone, and use up more of my stash and scraps. It is a win win!

Christmas Puppies - CSI 150

Hi all my scrappy friends! Solved another crime over at CSI. I love this site!!!! It really challenges you to not only get layouts done but also to journal. There are so many talented people there providing so much inspiration. It is really awesome! So for this case you had to use the colors of bright red, black, off-white, cadet blue, and green grass. I chose to use for the evidence flourishes, holiday accents, ribbon, and string from the list. The testimony I used wrapped journaling and handwritten journaling.

This year we had Christmas at my daughter's house. While there, my daughter's dog that she is fostering had puppies, luckily after we had dinner. While she was in labor I was petting her trying to reassure her and my daughter came in and said "oh don't pet her there, she doesn't like it." Oh yea!!! She loved it. Told her I had been petting her and she was loving it and she said "figures, it's you." My dad used to call me Ellie Mae because everything followed me home from school. HAHA. I've always had a way with animals. Probably because they can sense how much I love them. Anyway, she had 7 puppies; 5 males and 2 females. The first one, the one I'm holding, was a male. They are so adorable!!! What an awesome Christmas!

I'm not sure where I got the background paper and there was nothing on it. But the ribbon was from Christmas and it was Celebrate It from Michaels, the flourishes were from EK Success, the chipboard ornaments were from Crate paper, the Merry ornament was from My Yellow Bicycle, the poinsettias are laser cuts from Making Memories, the letter stickers were Sticko from EK Success (and they live up to their name...LOL) and the chipboard letters were from Imaginisce. I'm glad to say that once again everything was from my stash! Happy Scrapping!!!

Boxed Accordion Album

Hi everyone! I have another project share. I had joined a swap over at Mini Album Scraps (MAS) and for the swap you have to make a boxed accordion album. You are to follow a particular tutorial by Cristi. Cristi has an Etsy shop and it's called Paper Hoarder Disorder and she goes by the same YouTube name and has the instructions to make the album. She also carries kits for the album if you don't want to measure and cut everything. Since this was the first time making this album I thought I would do a dry run before making the one for the swap. Well it was quite simple. Anyone can make this even if you are a beginner. She gives you written instructions with pictures and links to her YT tutorials to make it. I was quite surprised how fast it all came together and how easy it was. I used Pink Paislee Switchboard 6x6 paper pad and on the front is some wood pieces from Momenta and the flowers on top are from Recollections. Here is what I made for the dry run:

Happy New Year and Journal Share

Happy New Year everyone! I can't believe another year has past. Most people make new years resolutions this time of year but I usually don't. Instead I make goals and of course the best way to accomplish your goals is to set up smaller goals that make you stretch yourself but yet they are achievable. These smaller goals help you make your way to your bigger goals. So I have made a journal to document my 90 day challenge which is just one step amongst many. And today I want to share my journal that I have made with you.

I made this journal using a printable download from Tsunami Rose. Her digitals are beautiful and if you haven't heard of her or if you have never used a printable digital download you should check out her shop on Zibbet. As I explained in my video, my journal is not really decorated on the inside because I need lots of space to journal so as I go along I will decorate it. But I did put some pockets and cut aparts, tags, and even a cloth drawstring bag in the book. The pictures and video don't really do the papers justice. If you get any of her kits you will see for yourself how beautiful her designs are. Here are some close up pictures of the journal:

Hope everyone enjoys my journal and check out Tsunami Rose on Zibbet. Have a happy and safe new year!
