New Years Eve - First Layout of 2016

I seen the inspiration picture from the Crafty Mavens Getaway Facebook Group on December 27, 2015 and I knew I had to do a layout. Although I have a couple of mini albums to finish I wanted to do this layout first of my New Years Eve. Since I was by myself I scrapbooked and watched movies. These are the inspiration photo and my layout:

I used the Scraptastic December kit for part of the layout and items from my stash. The base paper was a Scraptastic exclusive food/family/story line Twinkle Twinkleand the others were Studio Calico Seven Paper: Felix and another Scraptastic exclusive by Kaitlin Sheaffer: Advent. The diecuts and tag were from the kit and the were Elle's Studio Joyful Bits and Pieces and Fancy Pants Wish Season Tags Pack which were in the Scraptastic kit. The wreath and flourishes I cut from cardstock in my stash with my brand new Silhouette Cameo...Yeah! My first project using my Cameo! I also used a doily, vellum, sequins, gem in the flower and tissue paper all from my stash. The silver paper is from Craft Smith and the gold polka dot acetate is from We R Memory Keepers. The gold letters were Studio Calico and the silver letters were from The Paper Studio Stick-A-Bilities. I inked some of the items with Elle Studio Papaya ink that I got with my Scraptastic Color Add-on and I stamped the date in the same ink with the Heidi Swapp date stamp. Here are some close-ups so you can the items better.

Happy Scrapping!!!! :-)

Christmas Gifts to Myself!

Wow...I have been so busy that I haven't been on here to post anything! I still have to finish my 30 Days of Thankful album and my December Daily. Once I finish them I will post them for inspiration. I did buy myself some things for Christmas that I've been wanting for a long time...YEAH!!! I got a Cannon Selphy and a Silhouette Cameo. So excited! I haven't really got to use them much yet but I did print out a couple of pictures and just a couple of cuts on the Cameo. I will be using them quite a bit to finish up my mini albums I mentioned. I have got to mention a great Facebook group called Silhouette for Beginners where there are a lot of great people to help others who are just starting out with the Silhouette Cameo and other machines. Helps with the learning curve and who doesn't want that! Any newbies out there should check them out. And those who are trying to make up there minds if they want a Silhouette Cameo or one of the other cutting systems out there well all I can say is that I am so glad I went with the Cameo but I'm sure they all have their pros and cons. Just look at what you want to use it for and compare the machines. I would also suggest finding people in your local area who have the different machines and see if they will give you a demo. Also the local craft stores have demos on the machines from time to time.  Happy crafting!!!
