Victoria Marie Crop - August 2022 - Mixed Media

Well, I'm back with some more layouts from another Victoria Marie Crop. I still have a couple more days to finish some layouts and get them uploaded to the Facebook group so I might post some more if I manage to get them done. This crop's theme was to use our mixed media products. I love using mixed media so this was a lot of fun.

She has 10 crops during the year except for one month for a vacation and December when everyone is so busy. I highly encourage you to check her out at Victoria Marie Designs blog or on her Facebook page. She will be doing the crops again next year. You can purchase the entire year of crops for a discount this fall or purchase them as you want to attend.

Here are some of the layouts I have completed so far.

Bash Your Scrapbook Stash (BYSS) - "The Bashelor" July 2022

Hi Everyone! I've been continuing to bash my scrapbook stash. I did a few layouts for some challenges over at the Facebook Group Bash Your Scrapbook Stash. You should check them out. They are a great group that encourages you to use what you have.

In July, the theme for BYSS was "The Bashelor" which played off of...yep, you guessed it...The Bachelor. They gave you various dates/adventures you could choose (your scrapbook challenges) and create your layouts. I was so surprised when I had pictures to match some of the dates/adventures like baking class or escape room. It did not have to be the literal interpretation so you could scrap about cooking something.

The catch was you were to "Bash" a paper pad/collection. I choose Paige Evans Wonders paper pad and collection to try and bash and I did pretty well at bashing it which made me very happy. I took some of the pictures of the layouts before I got the journaling done to get them posted to the group in time. But the main work was done.

Hope you enjoy it!

Victoria Marie Crop - July 2022 Layouts

I'm back with some more layouts I've managed to get done. I attended another Victoria Marie Crop and managed to get quite a few of the challenges done and I've continued to use up some really old papers as well as embellishments from my stash which is a win-win. This crop's theme was using stamps. That was a lot of fun and was able to use stamps I had yet to use and were just sitting in my stash.

Victoria's crops are a lot of fun and she also has a lot of classes you can take. You can check her out at Victoria Marie Designs blog or on her Facebook page.

Here are some of the layouts I have completed. I still have to add journaling to a couple of them but wanted to go ahead and share them.

Totally Awesome and Cool Kid

I created another layout using up some old papers. These papers were from Scenic Route and I have always loved these papers. I did some stamping around the background and used some flair from Scrappin' Happy Studio and Shadnee on Etsy. I did the big splotches using Tim Holtz Distress Stain dobbers in Faded Jeans.

Hope you enjoyed my layout.
Happy Scrapping!!!

Oh Snap, Trouble

 Hello,

I did this layout during the Scrapbook Expo in Orlando in June 2022. It is a double-page spread of an exercise out our airport. I used several different fire-related papers and I'm not sure where I got them or what brand they are but they worked perfectly for this.

It is a photo-heavy spread so there is little room for a lot of embellishing. I used a stamp set from Elle Studio for the faux stitching since I couldn't do any stitching while I was at the crop. I punched some stars from the papers and popped them up on foam dots, used some puffy dots, some old Thickers, and some black thread. I used some white acrylic paint that was watered down to make some splatters and a few sequins.

Hope you enjoyed it and Happy Scrappin!

Hello Beautiful - Day 12 of The Best of 30 Days of Sketches with Christy's Beautiful Life #BESTOF30DSCBL

I created this layout for The Best of 30 Days of Sketches – Day 12 hosted by Christy's Beautiful Life #BESTOF30DSCBL The sketch is by Laura Rumble who is @laurarumblecrafts on Instagram, For The Love of Pretty Paper - UK Scrapbooking Group on Facebook, and at beadsbuttonsandbirds.blogspot.co.uk.

I had a lot of fun doing this layout using an old picture of my daughter. I used the Simple Stories Simple Vintage Cottage Fields collection for the papers, stickers, ephemera, and chipboard elements, VersaColor in Umber for the really light splatters on the background, Hampton Art brown for the larger splats and the faux stitching, Bo Bunny Terrific Textures stamps for the large splats, Elle Studio Home Sewn Stitches stamps for the faux stitching, and Nuvo Dream Drops in Dragon Scales. I distressed the edges and used a notebook edge punch for more interest and texture. Sorry, I don’t have a process video but I created this during a crop and could not film.

Sandhill Crane Family

I completed this layout during the (Inter)National Scrapbook Day/Weekend. I followed Janet Madison over at RTS Scrapbooking on Patreon. She did a series during this awesome holiday called Collection Cut-Up where you cut your papers in specific sizes and put them together and create a bunch of layouts but they all look very different. Janet comes up with so much content and she only charges $1. You should really check her out over at Patreon at https://www.patreon.com/RTSscrapbooking/posts. She also has a YouTube channel by the same name where you can see some of her older content and get a feel for what kind of content she does.

Since this is paid content, I will not be sharing any details about this round of collection cut-up but there are some older ones on her YouTube channel.  I can tell you that I used the Echo Park Capture Life collection by Allison Kreft. This collection was from 2014 and it is a timeless collection that can be used for any subject matter. I decided to do this layout about the Sandhill Cranes that are around my office. It is so fun to watch them hatch their eggs and see the babies grow up. They are quite large but they don't mind us watching them and taking pictures. Just don't get too close or you'll spook them.

I used a solid white cardstock background with some strips of two of the papers from the Echo Park Capture Life collection, some stickers from the sticker sheet from the same collection, a tab and word phrase from the Vicki Boutin Color Study Collection, some really old Making Memories die cut flowers, some flowers from a sticker book from The Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby brand), a puff heart from Elle Studio, a mini camera flair from Shadnee on Etsy, and some tile letter stickers from my stash. I drew a messy border around the layout to give it some definition because I seemed to get a little lost. I backed the pictures on black cardstock so they would pop off the page. The black you see around the border of the page is just the foam core board the layout was sitting on when I took the picture but after seeing it I wish I had matted the layout on black cardstock.

I hope you enjoyed it and happy scrapping!
